Friends :)

When you are low you need them, when you are happy you need them, when you run out of things to do you need them, you need them for encouragement and motivation....and the list can go on...in short you need them all the time.

there are 'n' number of books and movies based on friends, not to mention the popular series F.R.I.E.N.D.S.School and college life would be so dull and boring if there we dint have friends.I miss the endless lectures and the window shopping sessions with my friends.

if i'm making this post today its because of a friend i must say.i was just too too lazy to sign in and open this blog of mine (which has been around for a few years now inactive for the most). But then she(my good friend) pestered me to write something and so then the creative juices started flowing i guess!

It is a good thing these social networking sites are active and that we can get back in touch with the ones we almost forgot. And also its easier than emails for many...but the basis of these sites are friends too...i'm sure many will agree.

Thank God for friends!

Nonstop mommying

The day before i gave birth,my doctor told me " if you think you have given birth, the hard part is over and now you can rest, your wrong because motherhood is a never ending cycle, and now the real task begins."

When I was in my first trimester, is when I even started realising the hardships our moms must have gone through to bring us all up and also the the sad days when we threw unnecessary tantrums and hurt their feelings so much. And to prove my doctor right,we haven't releived our moms even after having kids ourselves.

As a person who used to snore away as soon a car started moving,I now can't think of sleeping because of my little girly. She's a year and half old now and has not only given me the absolute pleasure of realising the dream of being a mother but also every day is a new day filled with learning experiences.Looking back, all I can think of now is how hard I prayed to have a her.

Lets all enjoy mommying!

Idiot box

So many movie channels and so many movies, soaps, music, you name it and and its running throughout the day...and you are so spoilt for choice.i can hardly make my mind about which movie to watch... endlessly up switching channels not stopping to watch any.The luxury of cable and satellite tv channels.

No one can beat my sister at watching movies she's seen every movie they show on every channel! She even watches 2 or at times 3 movies simultaneously. Some tactic that is isn't it.

But as opposed to this thinking I never had a tv to watch while I was in London for 8-9 months.I survived.I had to overcome the perception that I had forever "five things I cannot live without...air,water,clothes,shelter,tv"... Now we can safely drop the 5th one,i definitely survived.although tv has become an indispensable need.I've seen tvs in tiny shacks along side the railway tracks in Mumbai.

But without the devil/idiot/ ... box or you can add to the bynames of tv,one can for sure spend quality time with family and friends.I did find other things to do without the tv and useful innovative things I must say!!

when a baby is born so is a mother......

And it takes a while to sink that you've become a mom!!!!

Like they say "seeing is believing" i never had a chance to understand that phrase...but when i saw the baby for the first time in OT, that was when i realized what a miracle means. All 9 months, even if you've seen the baby in scans and felt her kicks its a total wonder to see the new little one out of the womb.

The first few days are definitely tiresome because you are recovering from the labor/operation.And in the mean time, the hospital is the best place to have lots of time alone with the baby.To know the baby and see the baby as much as you want.
Once you get home, its difficult for things to fall into routine.Once that happens then its all cool. For the first few days i did not feel like moving away from the baby because i wanted to be right there when she cries, which is not necessary because you are always close by and can reach immediately. But these things don't strike you just during that time...now its been 2 months and now its still not easy sometimes. When the baby cries you can't decipher the cry.So you are wondering.

But one thing is true, that mothers have an extra sense, wherever they are,to know their baby is awake and not asleep!I've certainly witnessed this extra sense :)

But all said and done, the best thing to ever happen is to be MOM!

Two years ago on this day(22nd aug) we got married! After two years to recall that day, what a joy!Just to go through the pictures and to recall all the guests we had wish us for a wonderful married life ahead! And to think I hadn't seen my husband personally until 4 days before the day of my marriage all seems like yesterday :) And two years since then, life sure has changed us a lot towards each other and towards all the perspectives of life!

A day of anxiety and lots of expectations for many people.

Before you get married its like u feel "oh when will I get married???" and once that is all done its like you feel "oh!thats all!!!"

I should thank my better half who makes me feel like marriage is very easy!

Sugar free Romance!

Its a good family watch after a long time. A sober and an interesting movie where an older man (Big B) falls in love with a younger lady (Tabu). This much is obvious if one sees the trailer, the wait for the latter part was exciting.

A little girl Sexy and the older lady who played Big B's mom were really the highlight of the movie. Outstanding performance by both these characters.

Then came along the father of the heroine, Paresh Rawal. hahaha it was hilarious to watch the interaction between the lover boy and the father of the girl. The father of the girl being 6 years younger than lover boy himself. The dialogues exchanged between Big B and Paresh Rawal are rib tickling. The father of the girl talking to lover boy as his contemporary, making it difficult for Big B to talk of their marriage to the father. Its hilarious!

Its pretty interesting to wait and see how its going to end!

Cheeni Kum - a good mixture of comedy, romance and emotion, not to forget a wonderful background score.A not to miss movie on the whole!

Cartoons??!!

I'm sure each and every one of us enjoys cartoons.I remember how happy I was to know there's going to be a full time channel The Cartoon Network(CN).It used to be fun just to think there will be cartoons at our disposal at any time. All the cartoons Scooby Doo,Tom and Jerry (an evergreen classic favourite to all),Dennis the Menace, etc were so wonderful any time any place! They still are the best!

I don't know what has happened I can hardly see any channels now with these cartoons. The cartoons they show on CN now are simply ridiculous Johnny Bravo, Ed Edd Eddy, etc.I wish parents would not allow their children to watch them. They are obnoxious! At my age,I detest watching Johnny Bravo which is a common cartoon I get to see on all channels! His actions and behaviors are simply awful. All he does is flirt around with girls and try to impress them!I'm sure these children can do without such stupid cartoon shows.

I wish they would show the kids some good old cartoons!Atleast they could enjoy them and laugh! With the new age cartoons,a grown up could'nt identify the characters, then to think about the little ones! And even if the cartoons are so very ugly, kids still want to watch it!So might as well see some sensible cartoons!

It would rather be helpful if the kids not watch the cartoons today...

Valentines day

"What are u doing on valentines day?" Would be the primary thing you can expect to hear around the second week of february...I'm sure the shops will have a huge difference in profits for the first 2 months of every year thanks to our St valentine ofcos!!Wonderfully colored hearts and decorations all love related!a treat to the eyes ofcourse!

I kept getting suggestions from everyone including cousins and sister and friends!!!"why don't u bake a heart shaped cake, do something different that your husband's head should spin(like what i'm still thinking so much that my head is spinning)".

Like whats all the hype about a day of the calendar...just because people feel all lovey dovey on a particular day!!

More ways to spend for the guys and girls to "show off" their love probably. Its not a bad thing at all.But surfacing of love on one day and then vanishing for the rest of the year!sounds funny doesn't it like some temporary thing.

Love should be there around always(isn't it)!Maybe ladies feel special if they get all the attention on that particular day!And those of us who would'nt get any special attention in the form of flowers and chocolates and etc. will probably feel our guys are so unromantic!Like a friend of mine just told me her husband is taking her out for dinner on V day and aftr so many years of marriage...its seems so abnormal!!Probably like the changes in weather due to global warming...maybe global warming affects men and their romance!!Food for thought eh!!

So all of you people out there have a great V day and spend lots on good food and chocolates and watch your calories! And be loving all around the year...every day can be like V Day!!Happpy Valentines day to one and all!!hope you get gifts and niceties not only on this one day but through out the year!!

Sidney Sheldon

"A dazzling new international bestseller from the World's best story teller"...

All of his books have been described with a similar tag line.

I'm sure everyone who's fond of reading must have read this author's books.I started reading very late but I must have alreday read about 8-9 books by Sidney Sheldon.Only last week,I happened to read his first books "Naked Face" which was amazingly thrilling like each and every of his other books.Theres not a single book you start reading and would want to put down without getting to the other side of the book.

I also found out last week that this talented writer is the director/producer of a programme on television I dream of jeannie that was a cute and funny watch!!

Some of the books by Sidney Sheldon are Naked Face,The Other side of midnight,Windmills of the Gods,The stars shine down...
And thats not the end of the list!

Each and every one of his books are a great thrilling experience! So anyone who yet to start on cultivating this very good habit of reading not just fiction books any type of read is a worth! Its the best way to get knowledgeable and pass time!

I was just reading one of his books "The best laid plans", have a few pages to complete this one and every book i read seems to be better than the previous one.Just went online and found out Sidney Sheldon passed away on 30 Jan 2007!It was really something to read about his passing away while I'm in the middle of one of his books.
